Hey There!
We are Sarah and Safiyah, two sisters from Orlando, Florida. Sarah graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2019 with a Bachelor's in Biomedical Science with a minor degree in Biology and is currently in her final year as medical student based in South Florida. Safiyah is currently in her senior year of undergrad studying the Health Sciences, with a pursuit in a Physician Associate’s degree.
While studying the biological sciences is a great way to get interested in skincare, it's not really enough. We had a huge interest in reading journal articles on dermatological studies and decided to take that gained knowledge, combine it with our extensive experience with over-the-counter beauty products, grab our cameras, and deliver our findings in the form of stunning imagery. We believe reviews and skincare knowledge should be delivered in an easily digestible and visually appealing form, so Instagram is our ideal outlet!
We started The Top Shelf Edit on Instagram in December 2018 and connected with thousands of incredible people looking to not only better their skin, but truly understand how the skin (and skincare ingredients) work.
